Silent Letters in English
Do you find English pronunciation difficult because we don't pronounce words as they are written?
That's because written English has an incredible number of silent letters. In fact, only 4 letters cannot be silent in English (watch the video to find out what they are)!
The idea of this video is not to make you despair! But rather to show you the importance of learning how to pronounce words before you learn how to write them if you want to speak English with a good pronunciation!
As you will see in the video, focusing only on how to spell new words is useless if your objective is to speak English (which most people's is)!
So join me in this fun video, as I take you for a walk around my neighbourhood and give you the ultimate A-Z of silent letters in English!

Just before I go, this is the Opera House behind me, a very nice place if you want to see some ballet, there’s a very nice cafe next to it where you can watch live music on a Friday night.
A friend often plays the guitar there and the building next to it is a fantastic place for a nice cup of hot chocolate on a cold Illinois evening.
