Put your English textbooks away. Wave goodbye to your English teacher. And delete all those English language learning apps from your phone! The cheapest, most effective and quickest way to learn English is the one nobody ever tells you about…

… get an English boyfriend / girlfriend!!

 

OK, so maybe not the cheapest, if you take into consideration all the flowers, meals out, long-distance phone calls, flights to and from England during the holidays etc. etc. But certainly the most effective.

 

 

 

No matter how good your English teacher is, you will not be able to simulate speaking English when you’ve just woke up, are just going to bed, ill, angry, sad, passionate, hungry, happy, ecstatic, deflated… But when you use English with your partner in all these real life situations, you realise you learn an incredible amount of English incredibly quickly!

 

Sadly, you can’t just go out and find an English boyfriend or girlfriend with the sole purpose of passing your First Certificate, and so conversation classes with native English-speaking teachers are still probably the best thing available.

 

However, you never know when the English cupid will work his magic, and so to ensure that you are well prepared if that magic moment does happen, you will need to know some terms of endearment to keep them sweet!
