English vocabulary about challenges
It's the time to say goodbye to the year; time to make New Year's Resolutions, and set goals and objectives for the year ahead
However, it is said that most of us break our New Years resolutions within the first week of the new year. And so it is perhaps more worthwhile setting realistic challenges for the year ahead, rather than promise ourselves that we're never going to smoke another cigarette, or drink another drop of beer in our lives. Or that from now on we'll spend 2 hours in the gym every day until the day we die.
Here are some typical New Years resolutions in English, and some challenges that people set themselves at the beginning of the year. Doing them all might be a little bit too much to ask of you, so we suggest just learning them in English so that you can tell your English teacher or English speaking friends what you want to do, what you've done, and what you’ve failed to do this year.
