Listening exercises on Friends - Ross and the Dirty Girl

There are neat freaks, who spend their lives cleaning and tidying their houses so that they lives in a spotless abode, fit for the queen, with everything in its rightful place. And then there are slobs, who never clean, never tidy, never wash the dishes and live like pigs. Most people find themselves somewhere between these two extremes. 

Today’s English listening exercise is a clip taken from the popular television series, FRIENDS, in which Ross dates a beautiful colleague, only to find out when he goes back to her house that she lives like an absolute pig. 

During the episode, he has the dilemma of what to do, as, on the one hand, he finds her very attractive, but on the other hand, he can’t stand going to her disgusting house. 

FRIENDS is one of my all-time favourite television series, and if you enjoy it too, watching it in English is a great way to improve your listening skills while having a laugh.

And forget the subtitles! You don’t get them in real life, and so getting used to listening without subtitles will prove to be much more beneficial when speaking with native English speakers.
