Online shopping
Although there was a lot of scepticism about buying things online when it first become a popular was of paying for things, nowadays it is commonplace, and without doubt the most convenient way of purchasing goods and services. Gateways such as PayPal have ensured that the shopper does not have to give any bank details to an unknown vendor, and have increased consumers’ confidence in online shopping.
However, although it is seen by many as an even more secure way than paying with your credit card in a restaurant, there are measures that need to be taken to ensure the legitimacy of websites you use, and also measure that you should take to ensure that you are getting good value for money, getting the right thing for the right price, and are not being ripped off.
In this listening exercise, we are going to listen to some tips on how to shop online. Even if you are an expert online shopper, the information in the video is well worth listening to and taking on board.
