Jo-Anne Stoltz

I live in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua, where I teach English and pursue entrepreneurial ventures. I built the first-ever pickleball court in Nicaragua, which I rent out and use to host drop-in play sessions. Currently, I’m teaching the children in my neighborhood how to play pickleball every Sunday.

I’m passionate about adventure travel. My most recent journeys included visiting Machu Picchu in Peru, which I reached via a five-day hike through the mountains. The following year, I embarked on a six-day paddle down the Río San Juan in Nicaragua, starting at Lake Nicaragua and ending at the Caribbean Sea.

I enjoy helping people feel confident and comfortable with the English language. I find perfecting pronunciation and expanding vocabulary both engaging and rewarding. Teaching beginner and intermediate grammar is one of my favorite aspects of my work. My classes often feature fun and interesting stories or essays to keep learners motivated and entertained.
